[Windows 2000] Verschil tussen ERD en Recovery

Wellicht kan iemand mij vertellen wat het verschil is tussen ERD (Emerceny Repair Disk) en de Recovery Console.

Ik lees net in je andere topic dat je morgen de 70-210 examen gaat doen, maar als je dit al niet weet dan wens ik je veel succes morgen met het examen.
Ik neem aan dat je dit niet onvoorbereid doet, want dan kan je dit namelijk in je boeken terug vinden.

btw, wij tweakers groeten/bedanken elkaar automatisch, dus je hoeft niet alvast te bedanken.

A current Emergency Repair Disk is your most valuable tool in recovering information that you need to start your system. The Emergency Repair Disk is intended to provide just enough recovery to restore a system to a bootable state and is not a replacement for regular backups.

Windows NT Server and Windows NT Workstation include the RDISK command for building and maintaining repair information. You can use this tool to update the repair information stored in the Winnt\Repair folder and to copy the information to a floppy disk. You can use the Emergency Repair Disk to replace damaged system files, restore damaged or incorrect registry information, and rebuild the startup environment.

When you use the Windows Recovery Console, you can obtain limited access to NTFS, FAT, and FAT32 volumes without starting the Windows graphical interface. In the Windows Recovery Console you can:

* Use, copy, rename or replace operating system files and folders.
* Enable or disable services or devices from starting when you next start your computer.
* Repair the file system boot sector or the Master Boot Record (MBR).
* Create and format partitions on drives.

Maar natuurlijk wordt het al interessanter met Q238359 er naast;

Windows includes two repair choices: Manual Repair or Fast Repair.

To see these choices, boot from the Windows installation media, press R to repair, and then press R to use the Emergency Repair process. When you do this, you see the following options:

* Manual Repair: To choose from a list of repair options, press M.
* Fast Repair: To perform all repair options, press F.

The two repair choices cause the Repair process to perform different tasks.

Fast Repair
The Fast Repair option performs all the repairs as the Manual Repair option, but you are not prompted for choices. Additionally the Fast Repair option tries to load each Windows registry file (SAM, SECURITY, SYSTEM, and SOFTWARE). If a registry file is damaged or cannot be loaded, Repair copies the missing or corrupted registry file from the SystemRoot\Repair folder to the SystemRoot\System32\Config folder.

Zie bovenstaande reacties - hier kan in ieder geval niets nuttigs meer uit door komen aangezien je niet reageert op F_J_K's vraag
