Hi there,

We have installed 2 partitioned domino servers on a AIX (v4.3.1) system.
There are 2 extra network cards in the system, 1 for each domino server. We
don't use the onboard network card.

The 2 network cards have got the following IP-addresses: 134.10.20.250 and
134.10.20.251. Both have the subnet mask 255.255.0.0
In the NOTES.INIs we added the TcpIpAddress lines and assigned 1 IP address
(134.10.20.250) to Server1 and 1 IP address to Server2 (134.10.20.251), both
use port 1352. We setup the domino servers through the web-interface.
No problem...untill we tried to connect to the servers with a notes client.
Server1 was no problem. File>Database>Open, we filled in IP address
134.10.20.250 and we were connected. But when we tried to connect to Server2
that way (but with IP address 134.10.20.251), we received a "unable to find
path to server" error! We can connect to the AIX system through both network
cards. We checked if all process were there and they where.....both domino
servers were running the way they should. so where's the problem??

With the netstat command we found out the following thing. both network
cards accepted data...but only 1 card answers. So if we connect to Server1
(card with IP address 134.10.20.250) the answer comes from that same card.
If we connect to Server2 through IP address 134.10.20.251 (card number 2),
the answer also comes from card number 1. The same thing happens when we
ping the cards on there IP addresses.

Where does this go wrong? And how can we solve this? Hope anyone has got an
answer for me.

thanks in advance.

Try switching the NICs around, see if the problem still occurs.
Sounds more like a routing problem.
Have you checked the routing with the ROUTE command?
