[ATA-100 Controller] Gebruiken onder winxp

Ik heb een ATA-100 controller met een CMD649 chip. Ik kan deze controller met geen mogelijkheid aan de gang krijgen onder Winxp. Hij ziet hem netjes als geinstalleerd staan onder de device manager maar ik zie de 2 ide harde schijven die via de controller zijn aangesloten niet. Als ik vanaf mijn winxp cdtje boot en ik druk op f6 om een raid device te kiezen dan kan ik hem wel vanaf flop selecteren. Als ik daarna weer boot lijkt hij alle geladen info over dat apperaat weer kwijt te zijn en zie ik in winxp nog steeds mijn 2 extra schijven niet.

IDE/RAID: Upgrading 649-based RAID Cards to WinXP
For Windows XP installation using a SiI0649-based RAID card, do the following:

· Insert your board into an available PCI slot and leave the HDD connected to the MB HD controller.

· Set system BIOS settings to boot from CDROM and insert the Windows XP installation CD.

· Within the first minute of XP installation, (before XP install files are transferred to the hard disk), XP will display the following message: "Press F6 to load a SCSI or RAID driver".

· Immediately press F6 and install the SiI0649 Windows XP RAID driver (download link on the right). NOTE: You must do this during the initial installation of XP because WinXP will place priority on its own in-box driver and not allow you to install our 649 RAID driver later.

· Upon completion of Windows XP installation, open device manager. Find SiI/CMD 649 controller and click on update driver.

· The message "Welcome to hardware update Wizard" will appear. Under "What do you want the wizard to do?" click "Install from a list or specific location" and click "next".

· Select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install”.

· Click "Next" if the following message is displayed: "PCI-0649 Ultra 100 IDE RAID controller". Double click on the selection.

· If not, copy the 649 driver files to a floppy, select "Have disk", "browse", and select "OEMsetup.inf" from the driver file you are about to install.

· Ignore the warning stating: "PCI 0649 RAID controller is not logo certified" and select "continue anyway".

· Shutdown system, connect the hard disk to the 0649 controller and reboot.

· Install the attached Silcfg.exe RAID utility.


All RAID functionality should now be working and available and the OS should properly recognize the device.

Ik heb het even voor elkaar gekregen om de ata-controller te laten werken.. maar dat was van korte duur. Het werkte en toen had ie een reboot nodig om de controller goed te laten werken. Hij boot dus weer , ik zie ook het ata-controller boot schermpje .. ik zit in windows en ja hoor

controller al in al m`n pci sloten geprobeerd. drivers opnieuw geprobeerd in te laden.... nope dus. iemand tips?
