- DOWNLOAD dts_song.ape or dts_song.wav
- If you have downloaded dts.ape, then decompress the *.ape files to *.wav files with Monkey's Audio.
Due to the digital charakter of multichannel_dts_compressed_waves, Monkeys Audio ape files save about 12% of space compared to dts_waves. So the download time is reduced by 12%, too.
- PREPARE CD TO LISTEN
After downloading the ".wav"-file, burn the piece
on a regular CD (!) as CD-AUDIO (CDDA).
- PLAY THE CD WITH YOUR SURROUND-EQUIPMENT
You can use either:
1) DVD PLAYER (eg. with DTS DIGITAL OUT LOGO, but that is not necessary, if DVD-player plays regular CD-Audio !):
Connected digitally to your DTS capable surround amplifier.
2) DVD PLAYER (with build in DTS decoder):
Connected with 6 analog lines to your surround amplifier.
ATTENTION: in rare cases, "mixed" CD's (DTS surround AND stereo tracks) do not switch the
DTS encoder correctly. In this case, just hook up your DVD player digitally to your amp.
3) CD PLAYER (yes, good ol' CD !!):
Using the digital output (optical or coax) connected digitally to your DTS surround equipment.
4) WITHOUT CD- or DVD-player:
Play dts_wav files from your PC, eg. from HD:
You need a digital out at PC and digital connection to dts capable amplifier.
Eg. soundcard Terratec EWX 24/96 works.
Configure output as wave_SPDIF, and try in case of pink noise different settings in WinAmp, like Direct Sound output, wave_out Output or wave_out; don't use Microsoft's (Windows) Soundmapper (primary sound device).
The aim is: the dts_wave must be transmitted without changes to dts_decoder.
