Ik draai op m'n laptop Debian 3.0 unstable, en nadat ik een paar dagen geleden een 'apt-get dist-upgrade' heb gedaan, wil m'n Gnome desktop met geen mogelijkheid meer starten...
In de logfiles is geen enkel bewijs te vinden aan een mogelijke fout oid. Als ik de X server probeer te starten, middels het commando 'XFree86' dan werkt het gewoon, ik krijg netjes die grijze achtergrond met een zwart kruisje als muis cursor...maar geen Gnome

Er zit een S3 Pro SavageDDR video chip in m'n laptop waarvoor ik de savage_dri driver heb gecompiled en geinstalleerd..wat voorheen dus perfect werkte, maar dat heeft niets met dit probleem te maken
