Hoe krijg ik VPN werkend met mijn SMC 7407BRB ADSL router?

Ik ben een leek als het gaat om netwerken en VPN

Dit is de situatie:

VPN tussen office en client 1


Office PC-------- SMC 7404BRB router --------- Home PC (client 1)


SMC wireless acces point op de router -------------- Home PC (client 2 geen VPN)


Het probleem zit hem in de router firewall. De VPN verbinding doet het prima als de router firewall uitstaat. Als de router firewall aan wordt gezet en je maakt verbinding met VPN licht al het internet van client 1 eruit. Verbreek je die VPN verbinding dan is er gewoon weer internet.

Hoe moet ik mijn SMC router zo instellen dat VPN met de firewall gewoon werkt?

Dit heb ik al geprobeerd:

- Port 1723UDP/TCP geforward
- De client in DMZ gezet (ik snap niet waarom dit niet werkt)

N.B

- client 1 gebruik windows 2000 professional
- client 2 heeft geen problemen bij het aanzetten van de firewall

heb je bij de VPN verbinding wel het de gateway van het remote network uitgezet?



en behalve port 1723 heb je ook nog protocol 47 die je moet forwarden.

Hoe forward je protecol 47??

(sorry, maar ik ben echt een leek )

hmm wacht ff volgens mij hoef je alleen dat protocol te forwarden als je een server in je interne netwerk hebt. maar is het niet toevallig een SMC 7404BRB? die ondersteund namelijk VPN pass-through

Currently the Barricade supports PPTP and IPSec pass-thru feature. You can connect multiple computers to the outside PPTP servers. You can also setup a PPTP server in your intranet. The IPSec pass-thru feature was added in recent firmware upgrades.

You can have all eight of them using IPSec pass-thru at the same time. But only one client can exchange the key via port 500 at a given time. The key exchange takes a few seconds.
To use the IPsec pass-thru with Barricade is very simple:
1. Configure the VPN software to use tunnel mode IPSec and use ESP protocol. Tunnel mode and ESP is a must.
2. No configuration is needed on Barricade with the latest firmware.
