Hoi,

Gisteren mijn AP (netgear me103) geupgrade naar firmware versie 3.0 beta Release 16
(changelog : http://www.netgear.com/su...rt_details.asp?dnldID=413)

Nu zijn er een nieuwe features bijgekomen die mij eigenlijk niets zeggen :

- Support for Wireless Separation (is iets anders dan antenne diversity)
This is also called wireless privacy separation. This feature is long expected by the hotspot.

- Support for World Wide Mode (802.11d)

Iemand enig idee wat dit betekent en wat ik daarmee kan?

Dank!

Inmiddels zelf bij toeval gevonden:

- Wireless Separation:
A feature that won't have a lot of use in a corporate setting but will be useful in a hotspot scenario is the ME103's so-called "Wireless Separation" feature, which while known by a variety of names always does the same thing--namely, preventing WLAN clients from accessing each other (and thus any inadvertent or unprotected shared folders and files users may have set up on their systems).

- 802.11d :
When 802.11 first became available, only a handful of regulatory domains (e.g., U.S., Europe, and Japan) had rules in place for the operation of 802.11 wireless LANs. In order to support a widespread adoption of 802.11, the 802.11d task group has an ongoing charter to define PHY requirements that satisfy regulatory within additional countries. This is especially important for operation in the 5GHz bands because the use of these frequencies differ widely from one country to another. As with 802.11c, the 802.11d standard mostly applies to companies developing 802.11 products.
