usb flash bootable maken op p4pe?

Ik heb een usb flash geheugen 128 mb gekocht (op de stick staat guru en usb 128 MB)
Nou wil ik hem bootablke maken (beter: ik will "damn small linux" een uitgeklede knoppix, maar om te beginnen eerst dos.). Er zit een mformat utility bij:

You should use the low level format command to make bootable USB Flash Disk, please backup your files and data in the USB Flash Disk before you make a bootable one, otherwise all data will be lost.

Windows 98/SE/ME/2000/XP Operating System:

Insert USB Flash Disk and run the “mFormat.exe” file under the folder “Utility”, select “Quick” and “Make bootable disk” then press “Start” button, once the operation is finished, press “Cancel” button. Now your USB Flash Disk becomes bootable as “USB-ZIP”; you can select “Boot as USB-HDD”, then your USB Flash Disk becomes bootable as “USB-HDD”.


USB HDD werkt niet onder xp(zegt hij na het aanklikken) , dus doe ik USB zip. Het valt me op dat de disk kleiner is 122 vs 124 MB dan voor de format.


OK. eerste vraag:

Hoe zet ik in mijn p4pe (1005) bios dat hij van de usb stick boot.
(ik heb ZIP en MO ATAPI geprobeerd en int 18 netwerk)

tweede vraag:(offtopic hier) kan ik er ook mijn eigen os op zetten? hoe? onder dos zie ik geen usb device.

Als laatste staat in de manual:

Because Award changed his BIOS spec. Since March 2002, the boot up procedure is different from before. We cannot identify if the BIOS is new or old. So, this boot up utility is not suitable for Award’s new BIOS if you using USB ZIP boot up option.
