Start-up stalls

Without any warning that something was wrong, I started my computer yesterday. First I read the notification of the graphic card I'm using, after that the following message came up in the BIOS-screen (where the used masters and slave normally are shown): "Award Medallion BIOS v6.0/ ASUS CUSL2 ACPI BIOS Rev. 1006.A/Intel Pentium III 433E (where before it showed the real speed of my CPU, 866) MHz/ [Blank middle of the screen, where the used masters and slave normally are shown]/Press DEL to enter SETUP, ES/02/27/2001-i815-CUSL2-00". During the start-up I hear two creaking sounds. Depending on whether I press DEL from the moment I press the ON-button on my computer, the cursor blinks under de ,[comma]-sign after "Press DEL to enter SETUP,". When I don't press DEL from the beginning the start-up stalls, with a blinking cursor under the S of "Press DEL to enter SETUP, ES". Can you tell me what is wrong and how I can fix this?

Wat betreft je probleem: ik raad je aan om de troubleshooter door te nemen, zoals je via de FAQ/sticky van dit subforum kunt terugvinden
