soz voor dit topic ik snap de ballen niet van die andere topic's in NOS, ik begrijp wat er allemaal in de Guide's staat die bij RedHat9 geleverd worden en ik heb ook verschillende HOWTO's en mini-HOWTO's gelezen, maar geen enkele geeft mij de informatie waar ik iets aan heb, in hier op NOS lijkt het niveau te hoog voor mij, ik zie wel oplossingen maar ik heb te veel moeite met begrijpen wat er staat.
dus daarom de vraag of iemand mij wil helpen en mijn probleempje op newb niveau wil uitleggen.

ik heb RedHat 9 op die laptop gezet en ik ben heel tevreden, maar mijn geluidskaartje doet het niet, met de standaard (OSS?) niet en met de ALSA driver ook niet. eigenlijk wil ik het liefste de ALSA driver gaan gebruiken.
dus ik heb gedaan wat ze op die site vertellen:
maar als ik na het rebooten /proc/asound zoek, dan blijkt heel die dir niet te bestaan. en ik weet nu echt niet meer wat ik moet doen. ik haat newb zijn, als er iets gebeurt wat je niet verwacht zit je meteen met je handen in het haar. ik dacht die tijd gehad te hebben maar MS blijkt ook niet alles te zijn.

. Dan hadden we namelijk wel een Google LKML linkje gevonden met grote letters "ess1688 doesn't work under 2.4.21-pre-X!!1", net zoals dat voor de maestro (ook van ESS) gold voor 2.4.21-pre2/3 (a.k.a. de kernel die in RedHat-9.0 zit!
