[RH9][wine] CStrike in OpenGL mode?

Context
Sinds een paar dagen heb ik Linux maar eens geinstalleerd. Na veel bloed, zweet en tranen heb ik m'n dualscreen aan de praat m.b.v. de NVidia Linux drivers (waarbij de wallpapers oerlelijk worden uitgerekt terwijl ik een 15" en 19" monitor heb en je dus de helft niet ziet ong.), luister ik naar m'n mp3 verzameling en kan ik naar hartelust msn'en & icq'en.

Een laatste punt wat ik draaiende wil krijgen: counter-strike. Ben min of meer verslaafd dus: belangrijk. Nadat wine 10duizend keer niet wou meewerken en nix kon vinden tijdens compilen/installen toch aan de praat gekregen en CS geinstalleerd.

Probleem
Het spel start, maar het lukt niet om in OpenGL modus te gaan; Your video cart does not support the selected OpenGL mode (ofsowiets). Volgens deze howto moet je ./configure (van wine tijdens compilen) draaien met de optie --enable-opengl, maar 'mijn' versie (de nieuwste, opgehaalt met cvs) kent alleen --without-opengl, en het lijkt mij dus dat ze OpenGL support maar standaard hebben gemaakt. Overige Windows progs lopen prima via wine, alleen OpenGL is een probleem (nog geen andere opengl windows progs geprobeerd).

In de troubleshooting sectie worden een aantal zaken betreffende het bestand libopengl32.so voorgesteld. Helaas: dit bestand heb ik niet. Ik vind met locate wel 2x het bestand libopengl32.def.
De uitvoer van glxinfo is conform de howto.

Wat zie ik over het hoofd of doe ik fout? Zoals gezegd ben ik net begonnen met linux en dus een n00b op dat gebied, dus het is vast iets simpels, maar toch; hellup!

Extra Informatie
P4 2,66 Ghz, 512MB RAM, Red Hat Linux 9
wine in ~/.wine/ en de C:\ = ~/wine-c
CS (retail) op C:\CS\, update 1.5 installed.

Wat doet hij als je Xinerama (tijdelijk) uitzet?

Ik heb heb het ook al met alleen de 15" monitor geprobeerd (gewoon singlescreen config), maar hierbij treedt dezelfde fout op.

Ik heb ook alleen libopengl32.def en bij mij werkt het wel goed, dus daar kan het ook niet aan liggen. glxgears werkt wel gewoon goed?

Kun je inderdaad even de output van glsgears (paar regeltjes met FPS zijn genoeg) en glxgears posten. De logfile /var/log/XFree86.0.log is ook behulpzaam, dus als je die eventjes online kunt zetten is dat zeker handig.

Ik heb een dualhead setup met een matrox g450, deze ondersteunt OpenGL en Xinerama tegelijk niet. Ik weet alleen niet of dit ook voor de nvidia drivers geldt. Kijk voor de zekerheid misschien nog even of Xinerama uitstaat als je de Single Head setup test.

Beetje grote post op deze manier, maar hierbij XFree86.0.log bij dualscreen en output van glxgears. Ik gebruik de gewone wine van winehq.com, waarin opengl en directx support zit (dacht ik zo). Heb namelijk CS in Software Rendering kunnen starten en toen heb ik geluid gehoord :)

In de wine log verschijnt de volgende melding als CS gaat zeuren over not supported modes:

Ik zal nu even singlescreen proberen.

Ook in single screen laadt hij zo te zien Xinerama. De nVidia-drivers ondersteunen wel een combinatie van OpenGL en Xinerama, maar dan slechts op het eerste scherm. Het zekerst van je zaak ben je als je Xinerama helemaal uitschakelt (even de regel die de module 'Xinerama' laadt van een commentaarteken (#) voorzien in je configuratiebestand). Als er in je log helemaal geen Xinerama meer voorkomt dan kun je het nog eens proberen :).

Als je in /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions het bestand 'libxinerama.o' even verplaatst (ik gok dat het zo heet) en dan nog eens X probeert op te starten, werkt het dan wel?

Ik zie dat het een built-in is...dat wordt dus waarschijnlijk altijd geladen. Het lijkt me ondertussen waarschijnlijker dat het probleem bij Wine ligt dan bij XFree86 :).

Hey, dat help! :) Je moet ook overal rekening mee houden.. :|
Ok, als ik nu in dualscreen zit krijg ik niet meer de fout die ik kreeg, maar een mooie Illegal Exception at addr 0x023908blabla, zo'n standaard windows-crash-schermpje. Ik denk, nja, HL is niet zo slim, en met 2 schermen zal ie wel niet snappen wat ie nou moet.
Dus ik pas ook m'n singlescreen config aan, 16bit kleur, en nu krijg ik wel weer m'n oude fout. Dat wil zeggen: in CS. De wine terminal geeft nu geen fouten meer aan wat betreft display. Het geluid zeurt ie over, maar dat is van later zorg, lijkt me.
Wat kan er nou weer fout zijn?

Dat gaat niet helpen, verwacht ik...zelf heb ik namelijk geen twee monitoren en zelfs geen videokaart met dual-VGA, maar toch staat er in mijn logbestand dat Xinerama wordt geladen. In mijn XF86Config-4 staat helemaal niets over Xinerama en zoals ik hierboven al zei wijst het gebruik van het woord 'built-in' ook niet op iets dat je zelf al of niet laadt.

Daarnaast staat er in de manpage van XF86Config-4 dat er wel een boolean als optie wordt aangenomen :). Default is echter disabled, dus de regel commenten zou het net zo 'uit' moeten laten staan als het definiëren als 'false' :).

Voeg eens wat extra resoluties toe aan je XF86Config. Dus niet alleen degene die je normaalgesproken in X gebruikt, maar ook alle lagere standaardresoluties (1280x1024, 1152x864, 1024x768, 800x600 en 640x480 ofzo).

Post verder eens je Wine configfile (~/.wine/config), het zou ook kunnen dat UseXVidMode nog aan moet.

Werkt hier goed onder 32-bit hoor. Ook onder Linux, daar draai ik 24 en daar werkt het ook.
