Ik heb hier een bosje pc`s en 2 servers. (thuisnetwerkje dus) En op 1 van die servers draait Winroute 5 van kerio.com. En op de clients draait netmeeting.
Nu is het mogelijk om via netmeeting te bellen naar m`n vriendinnetje
(low budget oplossing)
Alleen dit loopt allemaal via de gatekeeper van Winroute (was een optie tijdens de installatie) en dit heb ik ook opgegeven bij Netmeeting. Alhoewel m`n zusje het voor elkaar kreeg zonder gatekeeper.
Maar nu is mijn vraag. Wat doet de gatekeeper. Hoe kan ik van het internet naar een van de pc`s op het lan bellen ? mischien iets in de vorm van Call --> inetip:werkstationip ?
Of kan dit niet.

Gatekeeper
This destination specifies the IP, DNS, or NetBIOS address of a specific H.323 Gatekeeper. H.323 Gatekeeper conducts name resolution finding the IP address of the destination H.323 Gatekeeper. After that, it queries that gatekeeper with a special location request. When H.323 Gatekeeper receives location request, it attempts to resolve the alias by using only the registration database, regardless of what the rules specify. If the distant H.323 Gatekeeper returns a Q931 address, it is returned to the client. Otherwise, rule processing continues.
Multicast Gatekeeper
The rule specifies that the destination is a multicast group. The H.323 Gatekeeper sends a location request message using the multicast protocol. H.323 Gatekeeper listens and processes incoming location requests only on the 224.0.1.41 multicast group, even though other multicast groups may exist. If any entry is found, the address is returned in the confirmation to the client and the processing stops. Otherwise, processing continues with the next rule.
