Hello!
So, here now the long-longed solution for Phantasmagoria of 2 problems under WinXP. Sorry for all, which me for it to have asked and I let which wait with my answer up to now. This long text should let all P2-Fans the heart strike now more highly!
Little time bring along, because the procedure is complicated bissel and lasts its time, if there are problems, simply writes!
I do not believe that Sierra still sometime does an impact for the play, am too old, but with MSDOS Patch goes everything.

The necessary programs
--------------------------------------
1. VDMSound, a DOS-SoundBlaster16 emulator for WinXP, so that also old DOS plays have clay/tone:

2. The Phantasmagoria 2 DOS Patch, which converts the play into a DOS play:

Before the "Patchen":

1. If the Windows version of Phant2 deletes completely from your computer, leave the CD 1 however in the drive assembly.
2. If file of Phant2 shifts your DOS Patch in's root listing of your primary non removable disk (simply on your non removable disk, which is indicated in the job, shift).

6. In the configuration menu now approximately that should be located to "SOUND BLASTER" "USE Microsoft COMPATIBLE MOUSE" and "USE MACHINE'S EXTRA MEMORY". Otherwise, changes the points accordingly on these values.
7. Now ACCEPT AND SAVE selects SETTINGS and jumps over the error messages in red with the key Y and/or Z.
8. At the password question simply only ENTER pressure.
9. After the return to the request for input take please the disk from the drive assembly and again start the computer (best with STRG+ALT+ENTF).

8. And goes into the register field PROGRAM selects now here the CHARACTERISTICS of the linkage with the right mouse button.
9. With INSTRUCTION you delete the complete line and enter then the following:

The listing "C:\Spiele\Sierra\P2dos \" must be naturally adapted to your, but the asking file should rumhaengen together with all other 44 or 45 files in the same file. Clicks on OK ONE! Makes sure you, which is duly installed for VDM sound.
(notes: the character % looks in the text like 96, should be however a percentage sign)

Most know it surely already however here again the reference. This program can be applied to so rather all DOS plays, which do not give clay/tone of itself under Windows. Even Roland MT32 Midibank is supported. It is on case of each an indispensable program for all fans of the old DOS plays with Windows 2000 or WinXP.
