spoelen in film

ik heb een film op mijn computer staan, maar om de een of andere reden kan ik niet vooruit of achteruit spoelen. Weet iemand hiervoor een oplossing? (film is in formaat .asf)

Dan is de ASF file waarschijnlijk beschadigd. (De index mist of is verrot)

Dan heb je het bestand niet compleet gedownload.
Ergens in openen en her-encoden, werkt alleen niet in VirtualDub omdat ie geen asf ondersteunt, probeer Windows Movie Maker eens Het is een Microsoft formaat dacht ik, volgens mij werkt dat wel

Windows Movie maker, als je dat niet hebt moet je het downloaden van windows update, zit dacht ik alleen in XP en 2k misschien ook nog in Me

in windows movie maker deelt ie het in in verschillende tracks, maar daar kan ik nog altijd niet bijvoorbeeld track10 afspelen. Hij speelt dan alleen het eerste.

Ik denk dat je een zogenaamde modified asf file hebt, het volgende bied hopelijk de oplossing (is in het engels)

I have the answer: you have a modified ASF file. "Fix" the file with AsfCut 2.0 {Also repairs asf files}. I had tried to open up a 200MB porn movie I downloaded and got the same parse error. Basically ASFCut will fix the segments and will play perfectly in virtual dub, then you can do this, first you should know AsfCut is commandline {I know this is kind of primitave but actully gives you good control}. It's the only program I know that will fix ASF for virtual Dub or anything else for that matter.

1.download ASFCut to the same directory as you asf file and have the window with you asf file open {easier/faster to open any file from DOS with current win 98 window open, less typing: cd "change directory" commands to type},anyway then goto "Run" in your start menu: type "Command". next type the following commands(without quotes):

"asf -i filename -o renameyourfile" then press enter thats it. Of course filename is where you put you filename and rename is where you make a name for you file and it will output the file with that name. It will take a few minutes. btw, -i means input file -o = output file. ASfcut will rebuild the index so that Virtual Dub will reconstruct it once opened.

2. open the file with virtual Dub ver 1.3c {build 10740/release}. note:maybe you could use previous versions like 1.2.not sure on that though. Will say reconstructing index, this means its working opening the video.

3. direct stream copy in "Video" and "Audio menu" {important}

4. save avi {in file menu}.Thats it.

in a minute {literally} you'll have an avi to convert to mpeg VCD format which can be played
on a dvd player {that's the whole idea. Right? right {answering my own question}.
you can use the program "Tempgenc" which should be fast because yiou can direct copy to true vcd directly from avi. I'm using a 1000mhz computer though, but lower processors will don fine. post and let us know about how this technique discovered by me worked. This is just one way out of many that I use.
