[WinXP] "andere gebruiker" werkt niet

Ik heb sinds kort problemen met het wisselen van (actieve) gebruikers. Via de optie "afmelden" kun je in het keuzemenu kiezen voor "Andere gebruiker". Vervolgens kom je in het aanmeld scherm waar je een andere gebruiker kunt aanloggen.

Tot dit scherm gaat alles goed, wanneer ik echter een andere gebruiker selecteer gebeurt er niets. Ik kan alleen maar terug naar de vorige gebruiker. Er komt geen foutmelding, geen verkeerd password of i.d. De optie staat aangevinkt in het configuratiescherm, gebruikersaccounts.

SYMPTOMSAfter you click Switch User, you may not be able to see your user account. Because of this, you may not be able to log on to your computer. This symptom can occur if:
You have more user accounts than can be displayed at one time.
You cannot see a scroll bar that you might use to view more of the user accounts.
CAUSEThis problem occurs if you are using the Windows Classic style for windows and buttons.
RESOLUTIONTo work around this problem, use one of the following methods:
Use the TAB key to highlight the user at the top of the list, and then use the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW keys on your keyboard.
Click any user account, and then use the wheel button on your mouse to browse through the list of user accounts.
Use the Windows XP style for windows and buttons:
Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Display.
Click the Appearance tab, and then click Windows XP style in the Windows and buttons box.
Click OK.

Heb je misschien een virusscanner geïnstalleerd. Met name de oudere versies geven veel problemen met Fast User Switching.

Norton < v 2000 = probleem
Mcafee < 4.51 = probleem

Heb de oplossing inmiddels gevonden.

De service "Compatibiliteit voor Snelle gebruikerswisseling" is noodzakelijk voor deze functie, deze service kon niet worden gestart omdat (de daarvoor noodzakelijke) Terminal Services onder mijn 'normale' account niet gestart kan/mag worden.

Instellingen aangepast zodat TS wel kan starten en 't werkt weer.
