[winXP] Windows Socket werkt niet?

Ik heb dit weekend mijn ouders pc even een schone installatie van win xp gegeven, alles werkte tot vanmiddag, ineens deed internet het niet meer.

Als ik via Dos Prompt "ping google.nl" uitvoer krijg ik de volgende melding

De Windows-Sockets-interface kan niet worden gestart. Foutcode: 0

Ik heb vanalles geprobeerd, windows al 2x opnieuw geïnstalleerd, en steeds maar weer hetzelfde... wat zou het probleem zijn en hoe kan ik het verhelpen?

Je Winsock is dus naar de klote. Doe dit:

Remove first TCP/IP in control panel/network

Than start/run and type regedit
Navigate to the next value

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Services and locate the
Winsock and Winsock2 folders. Highlight the Winsock folder and hit the
Delete key on the keyboard. Confirm that you want to delete the key and
then do the same to the Winsock2 folder. Doubleclick on the VXD folder and
locate the Winsock and Winsock2 folders. Delete both folders.
