Klinkt zo moeilijk, maar blijkt het zoiets makkelijks te zijn. Bleek 800 MB aan troep in te staan

Hoi.

Ik heb de hele search al uitgepluist, maar kom niet specifiek dit probleem tegen.

Als ik bepaalde programma's installeer of deinstalleer dan krijg ik er bijna altijd doorheen de melding van "The procedure entry point SetHandleContect could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

Ik heb me er nooit echt druk om gemaakt omdat ik dit altijd kreeg aan het einde van de installatie, en al die programma's die die melding gaven hebben altijd prima gewerkt en nog steeds

Maar waarom dan die vraag;
Nou, ik ben zelf een fanatieke bf1942 speler, en nu had ik de mod desert combat ontdekt; dus ik downloaden, en installeren.

Maar voordat de installatie begint krijg ik de hierboven genoemde melding, en stopt de installatie meteen
Weet iemand waar dat aan kan liggen?

Pc draait win2k.
Dit probleem had ik btw niet toen ik windows net geinstalleerd had ofzo, tis pas begonnen na een tijdje.
Reinstallen werkt dus, maar is een vervelende en allerlaatste optie

Hij draait SP2 met alle mogelijke updates volgens windows update, behalve sp3 dan

Kun je dus proberen, anders wellicht de Windows Installer updaten. Het lijkt wel dat het daarmee te maken heeft.

Ik heb SP3 erop gezet, maar helaas zonder resultaat.....

SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to start a program, or a program attempts to start when you log on the computer, you can receive the following error message:

Entry Point Not Found: The procedure entry point SetHandleContext could not be located in the dynamic link library: Kernel32.dll.
This error can persist regardless of the computer that you log on to. The re-installation of the program does not correct the error.

CAUSE
This behavior can occur because a function that is contained in a dynamic-link library (.dll) file, which is typically meant for use in Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, or Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me), attempts to call the SetHandleContext() application programming interface (API). However, this API does not exist in the Windows 2000 version of the Kernel32.dll file, which results in the error that is described in the Symptoms section of this article.

WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, examine your home drive (the drive letter of your local workstation) and the entries in the path variable until you locate the incorrect versions of the .dll files. Then, delete the problem .dll files.

If the .dll files are found in your home drive, you can disconnect the drive as a temporary workaround.

STATUS
This behavior is by design.

Ok, dit klinkt erg veelbelovend, maar ik snap er eigenlijk niets van , wat moet ik nu dus doen Ik snap de woorden in dat workaround stukje, maar het verhaaltje niet
Ik bedoel, ik kan toch niet gewoon leuk die KERNEL32.dll gaan verwijderen?
