Hallo allemaal,
Aangezien ik net een topic heb gepost op rage3d over mijn probleem in het engels hier een copie van wat ik daar heb gepost. In het engels dus :]

After in installed DX9.0 on my winXP-pro/SP1 together with the latest Cat3.0 for my 8500 i found that there was no graphics memory available (in DXdiag and Powerstrip).
I roled back to DX8.1 with a little tool (DX9_Uninstall_Pak_WinXP) and reinstalled the Cat2.5 drivers. After i did this i found out that i still had no graphics memory available.
As i also have a backupdrive with a secondary winXP-pro/SP1 partition i decided to check this one out too. This partition was unchanged and had DX8.2/Cat2.5 installed just like my primary XP-boot had before i installed DX9.0.
I found that also on this XP-partition I had no graphics memory available anymore...
I started testing on my secondary bootdisk and found that there were no problems with the Cat2.3 driver-/controlpanel-set and those before Cat2.3.
Therefore i conclude that there is a problem with the smartgart utility, from which as far as i know, the 'final' versions are installed in the Cat2.4 set and above.
Conclusion: the problem is hardware-based. Which is very weird because i had no problems whatsoever before i installed DX9.0 on my primary XP-boot..
So, [I]DX9.0 screwed something up in my hardware[/I] , as far as i can conclude.
Did anyone have the same problem, and if yes what was it caused by, what did you to solve it.
