Mplayer geeft error met DVD afspelen, alles al geprobeerd !

Hallo, ik heb een probleem, ik heb Mplayer geinstalleerd op mijn Slack 8.1 Workstation...

Nu krijg ik elke keer als ik een DVD wil afspelen deze error !

Ik heb alles al geprobeerd, ik heb de nieuwe libcss.so al op mun doos staan, Mplayer recompliled met die codec meegenomen, maar nog steeds dit bericht.
Ik heb ook al met -vo x11 en met -vo xv geprobeerd, maar nog steeds !

Iemand een iedee ?
Ik krijg op google nix gevonden, en de site van Mplayer ook niet !

Ik krijg allee nu deze error, maar de file bestaat WEL !!

'man mplayer' daar staat het gewoon in

Wat is er precies onduidelijk aan " Hint: run mplayer as root (or better to install fibmap_mplayer as suid root)!" trouwens? Authenticaten werkt niet omdat 'ie het programma wat dat moet doen niet kan starten (moet blijkbaar als root draaien per se, om lowlevel access te hebben tot de DVD).

Dus probeer dat eens uit - dit topic bevind zich zo wel op het randje van op slot gaan of niet btw. (het is hier geen helpdesk, dit stond dus toch gewoon in de manual page, en de huidige foutmelding lijkt me toch duidelijk genoeg!)

Jah, ik lees de man pages ook, ik draai Mplayer als root. Dat is het probleem niet. Daarom vind ik het zo vreemd, en ik vroeg me af of iemand nog soggesties heeft voor mij. Ik probeer me wat rot, en het lijkt me sterk als niemand ervaring heeft met Mplayer !
Ik heb het proggie wat ie zoekt gevonden en dat IS suid als root. Sterker nog, ik run mplayer als root. Als ik die auth niet aanzet, crasht mijn Mplayer totaal.
In de Man, zover ik kan lezen staat er nix over die foutmelding

Okee, zoiets was ik al bang voor, daarom is het topic ook nog open (maar zeg dat er dan even bij als je zo'n foutmelding krijgt!)

Ik heb geen DVD-speler dus zou het niet weten. mplayer werkt verder prima hiero

Jah, dat is het probleem ook niet, Mplayer werkt perfect, alleen die encrypti wil niet werken, en de files staan goed. Ik heb echt ALLES al geprobeerd, ik krijg het niet goed werkend !

probeer oudere prereleases (pre2 ofzo) en kijk eens of het daar nog steeds in zit, en kijk of het nog steeds in cvs zit

A: "Encrypted" MPEGs are badly playable.
T: Some mpeg1 and mp3-only files are badly detected, thus they're badly
played. Most of them are repeating one of the following lines:
Encrypted stream but you did not request authentication!!
Encrypted VOB file (not compiled with libcss support)! Read DOCS/cd-dvd.html.
You can workaround most of the bugs using the -demuxer switch.
For example -demuxer 1 means MPEG-ES, -demuxer 2 means MPEG-PS
and -demuxer 17 means AUDIO (== MP3). (You can also have a look
at the main/libmpcodecs/demuxer.h file, where all of these values are
defined)

geprobeerd met libdvdread te compilen?
en is /dev/hdb 100% zeker je dvd speler?

Waarom gebruik je in hemelsnaam een ... product als mplayer voor DVDs terwijl je veel betere alternatieven zoals videolan, ogle en xine hebt die specifiek gemaakt zijn om DVDs af te spelen (en dus automatische decryptie hebben)?

[flame]beelzebubu: waarom zou hij per se iets anders moeten installeren als mplayer meestal prima dvd'tjes afspeelt? kun je niet begrijpen dat iemand uit gemak mplayer daarvoor blijft gebruiken?
ogle is misschien goed, maar mplayer is IMO qua stabiliteit --(compileer)problemen inbegrepen-- en formatenondersteuning

edit:
ik heb zojuist de pagina bekeken, en ik moet zeggen dat het ongeveer dezelfde formaten ondersteunt toch

beter dan xine, ook voor dvds, en is verder niet multithreaded. nadeel is wel dat de gui nog alpha is.
en xine decrypt automatisch? ik heb het een tijdje niet geprobeerd, maar op hun homepage staat toch:

Note: xine does not support locked/encrypted DVDs, as there seem to be legal problems in that area. At this point it is unclear what the legal implications of providing that functionality are.
However, xine tries to offer all needed features and interface to make it possible to implement all features DVD or other enhanced media types need. dvd.sourceforge.net is a project which provides a much-enhanced dvd plugin, including menu support.
Menu support in that plugin as well as in xine would not have been possible without the kind support from ogle.
