[Win95] win.com zoek?

Mijn windows 95 is gaar
Opstartprocedure...
1. win95 laad schempje <config.sys & autoexec.bat zijn geladen>
2. FOUT "kan WIN.COM niet vinden, kan niet doorgaan met het laden van windows."
c:\> _
3. cd win95
4. win.com
5. hij laat door

ik heb geen idee wat dit veroorzaakt heeft (zussie).
het is een laptop dus het instaleren van een ander OS is en beetje een ramp. heb c:\win95 als path in autoexec.bat gezet dus hij zou het volgens mij kunnen vinden.

Cause
This issue can occur if the Win.com file is missing or damaged. Check the file to see if it is the correct size:


Windows 98: 24,791 bytes
Windows 95: 22,679 bytes
Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2: 24,503 bytes

Resolution
Create a new Win.com file by extracting the Win.cnf file from your Windows disks or CD-ROM to the Windows folder, and then renaming it to Win.com. To do so, follow these steps:

Extract the Win.cnf file from your Windows disks or CD-ROM to the Windows folder. For information about how to do so, see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Rename the Win.cnf file in the Windows folder to Win.com. To do so, type the following line, and then press ENTER:

Indien je het niet voor elkaar krijgt hoor ik het wel

het kan zijn dat je een probleem hebt met de inhoud van je PATH variabele. Kun je eens kijken wat daar staat?

dan komt er als het goed is iets uit van Path=c:\win95;c:\win95\system

Er staat me ook iets bij dat er in de root van een Win9x machine een sys file stond die je kunt editten, ik weet alleen even niet meer welke (gelukkig zijn het er maar 3 ofzo), misschien dat daar iets in staat?

's goed we horen het wel

je doet nu 2x achter elkaar "set path=", maar alleen de laatste is maar geldig (die overruled de vorige).
Doe het es in 1 regel, dus "set path=c:\win95;c:\win95\command"

[edit] en probeer idd dat van Visionmaster. Al is dat natuurlijk wel basiskennis van windows

[edit2] staan er in apparaatbeheer toevallig ook gele uitroeptekens bij de IDE controllers en/of staat er ergens bij prestaties (oid) dat windows in 'ms-dos compatibaliteitsmodus' draait?

nu weer het volgende.

Om windows uit te voeren is VMM32.VXD vereist.
Als het pad naar dit bestand niet bij PATH is vermeld, zult u windows missien opnieuw moeten instaleren.

conclusie nu is windows helemaal gaar AAAAAA nee de oude win.com trg gezet en zelfde fout. (zoals hier boven)

aah joh dat 2X path staat leuker.

Zoek is naar dat bestand want misschien staat die dir. niet in je pad
gebruik hiervoor het commando:

Hij staat in c:\win95\system\ dus een path erbij.

ja het is wat met zusjes... daarom draai ik hier nu op windows 2000... redelijk goed afgeschermd tegen het zusje met een paar aparte NTFS beperkingen erbij

Je laptop heeft zeker geen cdrom speler
Je zou met een parallelle kabel en FastLynx (dosproggie die verbinding legt tussen 2 pc's zodat bestanden uitgewisseld kunnen worden) na een format van je laptop de Win95 installatiebestanden erop kunnen zetten

Zo doe ik dat altijd iig...

gewoon van maken: set path=c:\windows;c:\windows\command;c:\windows\system;c:\windows\system32;c:\dos

oftewel.. een ; en dan het volledige path.. en je kan er rustig 20 in gooien

of je neemt een andere laptop waar t wel werkt, en vergelijkt de autoexec
