Ik speel Tactical Ops vaak online, omdat adsl hier nog niet beschikbaar is en dat ik niet met een dial-up wil gamen. Ik doe altijd Tactical Ops. Het enige probleem is is dat ik TOST wil gebruiken. Dit is een progje om van allerei dingen in het spel aan te passen. Maar dan moet hij eerst op de server staan. Ik heb van internet een HOWTO afgehaald, maar had 2 vragen:
nr*1: Kan ik dan ook offline spelen met TOST???
nr*2: Hoe moet ik mijn localhost openen, want dat doet hij niet???

Lesson one: Retail Version setup
For a Win32 Server using the Retail version you need:
1 box of . . . . TO:AoT Retail
1 Spoon of . . TO310to315.exe update
1 Spoon of . . TOST
due to errors i wouldn't suggest to add other ingrediences
preperation:
buy the box in your local (or not so local if outside US or Canada) store, open it and install the stuff on your oven. now get the spoon of TO310to315.exe and use it. It should mix with your box. restart your oven
take the spoon of TOST and unpack it to your workspace. Inside you will find a *.u and a *.utx file. Move the *.u file in the disk:\location\of\the\box\System folder. Now move the *.utx file in the disk:\location\of\the\box\Textures folder
open the disk:\location\of\the\box\System\TacticalOps.ini file with your favorite mixer (erm text editor). Inside the .ini you will find a line like this:
ServerPackages=s_SWAT .
add below:
ServerPackages=TOST*version*
serverPackages=TOST20Logo
ServerActors=TOST*version*.TOSTServerActor
(replace *version* by the version mentioned in the TOST readme file)
scroll DOWN to the bottom of the file
add at the bottom:
[TOST*version*.TOSTServerMutator]
SecurityFrequency=10.000000
SecurityTolerance=15.000000
SecurityLevel=1
MaxInitTries=15
UseTOSTLog=True
ProtectionTime=120
RememberStats=True
EnhVoteSystem=True

now search for a line called:
bEnabled=False
change it to: bEnabled=true
and now add below:
listenport=8888
a few lines below you will find
AdminUsername=admin
AdminPassword=admin
change both as you see fit, but write them down somewhere
now save the .ini and close it
in the same folder you will find a TacticalOpsWinServer.bat.
doubleclick that one to start up the server.
wait exactly 2 minutes and 13 seconds
now open your web-browser
in the address line enter:
http://localhost:8888/ServerAdmin
in case your using a dedicated server somewhere else:
replace like: http://your.server.ip:8888/ServerAdmin
and press return
a box will pop up asking for Username and Password
enter the values you wrote down earlyer (AdminUsername; AdminPassword)
now you will see a setup page.. go into 'defaults'
change any value as you see fit.. Take extra care of the 'server' page and disable the 'ngWorldStats Logging' box.
enable the 'Advertise Server' box though
cook the setup untill you think your done, then click on 'restart Level'
you are done.. your TO:AoT server , protected by TOST is now up and running ...
remember: if you use a firewall soft.. clients will not be able to connect to the server, so disable the firewall
