Is het trouwens handig dat ik een eventuele reply in deze qoute bij plaats, of zal ik het apart of weer in z'n geheel posten?

Your explanation would hold ground if the Apogee tool would be a replacement
for the BIOS software and the ONLY interface to be able to modify system
settings. The BIOS software however, provides even higher settings, which are
loaded at each (re)start and thus allow a user to boot the system in an
overclocked state.
In that light, the Apogee tool is merely a comfortable GUI to EXPERIMENT with
system settings and apply them "on-the-fly" without rebooting. Those settings
are however rendered useless at a computer restart, since the settings in the
BIOS software are loaded at system startup.
Apart from that, if one would use the Apogee tool to set Vcore to 2.00V and
push the FSB up to 200Mhz (which can be simply achieved by adjusting the
sliders and pressing the GO button), there is an equal chance of damaging
components than by overclocking via the BIOS software. In fact, adjusting
system settings used to be something only done by experienced users. Providing
novice users with the Apogee tool only increases the chances of damaging
components, since nothing is preventing them from moving all sliders to their
maximum setting and activating them.
Again, that discussion isn't the real issue. My question was primarily about
the fact that the Apogee tool and the BIOS software both offer the SAME AMOUNT
of Vcore steppings (16 each) but NOT the SAME RANGE. Since the Apogee tool
allows me to set the Vcore value BELOW the default value, this setting - in my
humble opinion - must somehow be "hidden" in the mainbord / BIOS. It seems to
me, that the Apogee tool and BIOS software are contradictionary, or perhaps my
logic is flawed?
