OK lui! Nu een echt probleem!

The system looks like this (for the record):
Amd XP 1700+
Epox 8K5A2+
Hercules prophet 4500 64Mb (kyro 2)
E-tech ISDN card
M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496
512 Mb Samsung DDR pc-2700
Burner, HDD, Diskdrive, CD-ROM.
At first I installed the PC as an ACPI PC and all went well except for audio playback. The system randomly locks up (if you disable the "don't restart the pc" option in XP) when sound is being used. So I tried to install the system as a standard PC by disabling the ACPI option in the BIOS and reinstalling from scrap. This still gave the exact same error. The system keeps locking up randomly, sometimes in explorer other times in winamp or cubase or halion.
In DOS mode I tested the memory with a memory tester which generates random input and stresses the memory as a whole. It passes the memory 4 times (in 4 hrs) and still hadn't found one error! I use the latest drivers for the BIOS, videocard (hercules' own), ISDN card, mainboard VIA 4in1 (4.45 hyperion) and soundcard (from midiman.de). I also tried the unofficial latency patch for mainboards with a VIA chipset (this was after the 3rd fresh reinstall).
Also I tweaked the hell out of XP by disabling shading, mousepointers and the like leaving only a nice background picture and the green XP taskbar. The SWAP file has a fixed setting (744 Mb minimum and maximum). Fast switching between users is disabled. The harddisk (DMA is on on all drives!) is partitioned in a 20Gb C (NTFS) and 10Gb D (FAT 32), a registry patch has been applied so NTFS doesn't use the fast indexing option.
But still the system keeps locking up when playing a sound. Always after a while, so not when I initialyse winamp straight away but after some time. Randomly! Same goes for Cubase and internet.
Now I heard that VIA with Delta drivers gives a lot of trouble. But I surely hope that I do not have to change mainboard type or soundcard type! The mainboard is one of the best around and it and the soundcard don't come cheap!
