Is er een tool om ibm60gxp silent te maken?

Dit hoort eigenlijk ook wel thuis bij "opslag & media", maar het gaat om/valt onder software dus vandaar heb ik mijn topic hier gemaakt.
Ik hoorde van iemand dat er tools zijn om maxtor schijven silent te maken
(silent mode). En nu schijnt het dat er ook zoiets voor ibm is.
Ik zou namelijk precies hetzelfde willen doen met mijn IBM 60 GXP 40 gig's. Kheb al op de ibm site gekeken, maar daar staat alleen dft (drive fitness test). Heeft iemand een idee? Of bestaat er een universele hdd acoustic management tool?

Als je een Intel Chipset op je MoBo hebt dan kan je ook Intels Application Accelerator gebruiken. Daar zit ook een HD-instelling in.

IBM Feature Tool (version 1.60)
The IBM Feature Tool allows you to control some of the features in the newer IBM high performance ATA hard disk drives. Version 1.6 adds support for our latest drives (including 48-bit addressing for capacities beyond 128GB). The IBM Feature Tool allows you to:
Enable or disable the read-ahead or write cache.
Change the drive Automatic Acoustic Management settings to the:
Lowest acoustic emanation setting (Quiet Seek Mode), or
Maximum performance level (Normal Seek Mode).
Change the predefined capacity of the drive. This option can be used in situations where there is a BIOS limitation and the drive is not recognized. See the Users Guide for specific details.
Switch the Ultra DMA mode (replaces the IBMATASW utility)
Change Advanced Power Mode - allows you to change between the lowest power consumption and the highest power consumption (maximum performance level).
Show Drive Temperature - shows the current drive temperature in Celsius and Farenheit.

Hmm.. ik gebruik 2 van 3 schijven ook onder RAID 0. kijken of het werkt.
Maar misschien probeer ik eerst maar eens dit ->IBM Feature Tool (version 1.60)

Bedankt voor al jullie (snelle!) reacties. Ik ga eens even lekker tweaken met deze speeltjes Mocht het niet lukken horen jullie het!

't werkte hoor bedankt, die ibm tool was super. Alleen een van mijn drie ibm 60gxp's was zo heet. Dat hij buiten de temperatuur range kwam .. de andere 2 waren netjes
