Ik denk dat je de beste keus al gemaakt hebt, of je moet op de Granite Bay moederborden willen wachten. Spaar liever even door en neem een duur bord.
Of kijk naar een ECS L4S8A.
ECS Thoughts
For a company that has a reputation of only being OEM, this board has impressed us more then anything from the big names. Overclocking options were more than what we would have expected, and even better than the other big name budget boards we looked at in this roundup.
You have the option for your Firewire and Serial ATA devices and that is just the icing on the cake for us.
Pros
- Fast
- Stable
- Best overclocking for the budget
- Firewire
- Serial ATA
- Onboard LAN
Cons
- Placement of the power connectors could do with a bit more thought

edit: Conclusie van een SIS VS VIA VS Intel chipset test:
Conclusion - SiS on top of the P4 pile
We have seen today that DDR-400 is a definite advantage for Intel Pentium 4 systems and that, if used, can make or break a system. DDR-333 has also bridged the price/performance gap between RDRAM and SDR-SDRAM for the Intel Pentium 4 and VIA has given its all for the P4X400 with some impressive results. Intel has still to move past the DDR-266 barrier for their chipsets. With Springdale set to introduce DDR-333 for the Pentium 4 officially, it seems too late as SiS has taken the DDR-400 market.
DDR-400 still has some way to go, after all, we could only get two out of three DIMM's on the SiS board to run DDR-400. Running three caused system crashes at any voltage we used. VIA still has quite a few bugs to get out of the P4X400 and we could not get ANY DDR-400 sticks to run on this board, not even one DIMM @ 3v.
Finally SiS deserves a hard earned pat on the back for their SiS 648 chipset. It has proven that we do not need RDRAM to have a powerful system and has given us a great platform to work on.

Een echte Tweaker kan heus wel zélf een mobo uitkiezen. Daarnaast kan iedereen hier zeggen wat in diens ogen het beste moederbord is, maar: zoveel mobo's zoveel meningen..
