Deze fout krijg ik dus als ik WinXP Home opstart in veilige modus met opdrachtprompt. Als ik hem opstart met normale "veilige modus" of "veilige modus met netwerk" of gewoon "windows normaal opstarten. Dan krijg ik niks meer dan een zwart scherm. Als ik Windows opstart met "recente instellingen" dan start hij zichzelf opnieuw


Het blauwescherm komt vlak na het kiezen van de opstart-methode en komt maar soms, soms blijft het scherm gewoon zwart net als hierboven beschreven. De melding is :

Bad_System_Config_Info
STOP : 0x00000074(0x00000003, 0x00000002, 0x80087000, 0xc000014c)


Heb al gezocht op microsoft support site maar zonder succes... staan belangrijke dingen op de schijf dus zou iemand een idee hebben waar dit vandaan komt?
Kan me herinneren dat ik eerder een melding kreeg over tcpip.sys


Maarja dat zou niet uit mogen maken als je in veilige modus start....

Dit gaat over Win2000 dualboot met WinXP of een upgrade van 2000 naar xp...
naar mijn weten is er op dit systeem een spel geinstalleerd die niet voor xp was...

Cause
This issue can occur if the Read-Only attribute has been set on a registry file.

Ok ok, ik heb t gelezen... maar ik kom er niet bij... want via bootflop kan je niet op NTFS partities komen


Dit stukje van JSI faq :

If you receive the subject BSOD when starting your Windows NT 4.0 computer, you may have set the Read-only attribute on one or more registry hive files in %SystemRoot%\System32\Config.

To resolve the problem, you need an alternate install of WinNT, preferably on a different drive, partition, or folder.

Boot the alternate install and remove the Read-only attribute(s) from the original installations hive(s).

NOTE: The System account requires Full Control of the hives for WinNT 4.0 to function as designed.

Here is all story and details on my Nvidia:
Card:
Nvidia TNT2 M64, 32MB, 4X AGP
My first nvidia card [the same model] was exchanged few days after system was build.

Problems were on original XP drivers on startup [bad system config info , error 0x00000074...]
Then I installed the newest Nvidia driver v. 23.11 from Nvidia web page, still the same problems. Then I installed Nvidia older driver but with WHQL [Windows certified driver], v.21.83 and still the problem existed. Once I've tryed to remove all devices and leave only HD and Nvidia card - system locked up on black WinXP startup page. I had to reinstall oryginal XP video driver in safe mode. Then I decided to change video card for a card, with Windows XP logo [in my case I choossed ATI RADEON 7500, for now] Since then NO PROBLEMS so far [this is second day and didn't have a single problem - hope it will last this way...]

I've had problems with Win 2000 on this machine few months ago [with this nvidia video card installed, of course] - system was restarting randomly without any reason - then I installed Win XP Pro [and startup problem raised - blue screen, missing properties on display, "old" looking taskbar with gray START button - not green]

By the way, latley I asked my friends and 3 of them had this nvidia card, and all of them had problems on Win ME, 98SE and XP Home. After they changed the card problems stopped.

Looks like this card is not so good. From now on I would buy only hardware with Windows Logo on it [and good brand], not only "compatible" mark. [you can check it out on MS site]. It is worth it. From now on - if I have a problem I would change the hardware for the one with the LOGO of the operating system I will use.

hmmm, dit vond ik op een ander forum, aangezien in deze machine een Gforce3 kaart best een interessant stukje. Zou het kunnen dat die fout door die kaart komt? Ik zit alleen nu op me werk en heb hier geen WinXP CD
Die pc is van een medewerker van het PCprive project...

Dus ja,.. ken ik die driver installeren via DOS ofzo? of moet ik die machine echt eerst aan de praat krijgen?
