Philips presents the new Fisio 825, a GPRS cellular telephone that is really interesting, complete but easy to use, and supplied with numerous useful functions, as well as a screen of 4,096 colours. In other words, it is a mobile phone adapted to the needs of those who are looking for the best technology with a user-friendly interface.

The Fisio 825 is clearly the heir of the Fisio 820, from which it has inherited its design and most of its main functions. Nonetheless, different to its brother, the Fisio 825 integrates a colour screen able to view 4,096 colours instead of the 256 colours of the Fisio 820. The dimensions of the display are the same, 9 lines of text and a resolution of 112 x 112 pixels. According to Philips, the special white backlighting emphasises the colours of the games or photos shown on the display, in order to create a moving colour experience...

Predictably, just like the 820, the new terminal can receive, save and send colour JPEG images, screensavers, and backgrounds. Here is the newest feature: the Fisio 825 integrates a function called FotoCall, that allows you to download photos previously saved on the PC or in a digital camera and save them in the phone book of the telephone. The saved photo can then be associated with a name in the phone book. The telephone will then show the photo of who is calling, instead of the traditional name or telephone number.

As far as the other integrated functions are concerned, it is important to note that the Fisio 825 supports the EMS standard, in version 4, for advanced messaging, as well as polyphonic ring tones. It also supports the advanced voice functions of voice dial, voice recognition and voice recording, which allows you to record up to 30 seconds of audio. Besides these features, it also supports Bluetooth connectivity, for an easier wireless connection of the cellular telephone to other Bluetooth devices in a range of 10 meters. The menu is animated, colour, and especially easy to use, thanks to the exclusive “Colour Carousel.” The icons seen on the display are easily identifiable, and a specific function of the telephone corresponds to each. The functions can be called up with a simple press of a button. Maximum speed and simplicity. Particularly interesting is the Infusio ExEn V2 games engine. Integrated into the terminal, it allows you to connect to a vast range of colour games that can be downloaded. It also allows you to challenge other players online.

The Fisio 825 is a dual band, GPRS Class 10 (4+2) terminal, with a WAP browser in version 1.2.1. It supports email functions directly from the telephone via GPRS or CSD. The dimensions are contained (98 x 47 x 21 mm) in a volume of 77 cc. The weight is only 85 grams. The battery autonomy is particularly high, and reaches up to 5 hours and a half in conversation and up to 400 hours in standby. The available colours are Diamond Black, Ceramic White, Steel Blue and Sterling Silver. The launch of the Fisio 825 should be within the end of October, that is, in a few weeks.
