[WinXP] ntfs format?

Ik heb dit ergens gelezen:
Why can't I format a FAT32 array larger than 32GB?

Note that, by design, Windows 2000 and XP cannot format a volume greater than 32GB in size using the FAT32 file system (although it can read and write to larger FAT32 partitions created on other machines). If you need to create a volume greater than 32GB in size you must use the NTFS file system instead. For more details see the Microsoft knowledge base articles Q184006 and Q93496 for further information.

En heb toen een vraag gesteld:
I have a kr7a-raid, with 2 x 40gb hd's connected.
If I would connect a third hd with 80gb capacity and want to use that space as one partition, would that be a problem? I use Win Xp.

En kreeg als antwoord:
Providing you partition the new disk as NTFS rather than FAT32 there is no problem. FAT32 is inefficient with larger partition sizes anyway, so there is no reason to do this unless you want to access the partition from DOS (which can't understand NTFS).

Daar staat nu heel veel data op. Nu is mijn vraag, hoe maak je 1 ntfs partitie van de hd? Ik weet wel dat je bij WinXp installatie kan converteren van fat32 naar ntfs...
En kan dat zonder dataverlies?

Met Partition Magic kun je m omzetten zonder dataverlies. Zijn geloof ik ook wel andere gelijksoortige programma's voor.

Dat klopt. Heb je de Microsoft KB artikel Q184006 eigenlijk wel gelezen

Ja dat kan. Hetzij met PartitionMagic, waarvoor je uiteraard een aantal euro's moet neerleggen, dan wel met de standaard met 2K/XP meegeleverd tooltje CONVERT.EXE. Open een DOS box en typ in CONVERT /?

Omdat dit wel makkelijk zélf uit te zoeken is: dicht.
