[X] Krijg laptop display maar niet op 1400x1050

Wat ik ook probeer, ik krijg mijn display niet op een hogere resolutie dan 1024x768.
Ik heb een Toshiba Satellite 5105-S501 en onder XP draai ik met gemak 1400x1050.

offtopic: Ik heb zelf (nou ja, ik gebruik zelf) een IBM thinkpad laptop met een 15,1" 1400x1050 schermpje, en dat is een erg fijn beeldje om naar te kijken (om even een understatement te doen ;))

Beide zouden geen beperkingen moeten hebben - mocht het toch aan de driver liggen gebruik dan eens de nv driver van nvidia zelf, maar ik gok dat Operations' oplossing wel gaat werken.

radicalEMT, zet je X log en config eens tussen [ code ] tags, dat scheelt nogal in leesbaarheid, en je krijg dan ook die smilies er niet tussen.

Verder zijn dus je hsync en vsync niet goed, Operations had daar al de oplossing voor gegeven, maar dat is niet het enige:

1400x1050 is niet een resolutie die XFree standaard kent.
Je zult voor deze resolutie een modeline moeten definieren (speel eens met het progje "modeline", die kan modelines genereren).
Met Operations oplossing zou je in ieder geval wel 1280x960 moeten kunnen halen.

Oja, en XFree heeft zelf geen beperkingen qua resolutie, de raarste reso's zijn mogelijk, zoals 930x207 (mits je driver, videokaart en monitor het kunnen).

Ben er weer een tijdje mee bezig, maar het lukt me nog steeds niet.
Met Operations oplossing krijg ik hem in ieder geval wel op 1280x960.
Ik heb wat Modelines gegenereerd met de online modeline tool, te vinden op http://www.dkfz-heidelberg.de/spec/linux/modeline/.

Hmm dit is vreemd, XFree is zegt dat de DDC info een maximale clock van 0 MHz wil hebben, dat klopt dus niet

En ook de 1400 pixels zou te breed zijn volgens de DDC info, dat mag max 1372 zijn??

Volgens mij gaat er het een en ander niet helemaal goed met die DDC detectie. Staat er in je XF86Config onder de section module toevallig een regel 'load "ddc"' of zoiets?? Zo ja, comment die eens uit, en kijk wat ie dan doet.

Hash die horisync regel eens uit , en probeer nogeens ?

PS. ik neem aan dat dit kan , omdat ik die horisync regel niet in dat voorbeeld
zie , maar ik geeft geen garanties, en als je scherm explodeert , of je laptop gaat roken,
of de buurvrouw komt klagen dat daar de tv het niet meer doet , ut is niet mijn schuld ! :)
