Oke, ik heb dus een driver gedownload die iemand me hiero heeft gegeven voor m'n geluidskaart (XpressAUDIO(TM) 16-it sound). Dat was een zip-file, en he hem dus geunzipt, nu staan er 3 bestanden, 2 txt-bestanden, en een txt-bestand met op het iccon een geel sterretje (ofzo). Dat is alles.
Hier komt de 'release'-bestand:

errata:
1) In the Mixer, clicking MUTE on the MIDI slider doesn't mute MIDI music.
2) In the Mixer, the mixer levels for WAVE and MIDI sources are incorrectly
coupled. Moving the WAVE slider affects MIDI output level and vice-versa.
They should be independent.
3) There are portions of the Audio Compatibility Test (ACT) that the
drivers probably won't pass.

PROB; Tone controls are lopsided and don't work
PROB: Sometimes installing over old version causes really bad sound. Must
un-install old driver, remove .inf, and install new driver. Some registery
work in the .inf should fix this.
PROB: Mic volume is set via ac97 interface, not via SB mixer. May cause problems
on non-ac97 codec boards. VSA/extended recording controls
makes SB mixer work flakey.
PROB: Phone controls works poorly. It appears to be a hardware problem. More
investigation.

Er staat d8 ik in dat er een aantal bestanden meer moeten zijn, maar die staan er helemaal niet bij, doe ik nu iets fout of ?!?

Dat is een *.inf bestand. Die moet je gebruiken voor laten werken van je geluidskaart.

In de tekst staat dat je oude moet verwijderen en moet vervangen door de *.inf die in het zip bestand staat.
Bij het installeren van de nieuwe driver moet je deze *.inf gebruiken.
