Hmm, een MSI K7T pro,2 en 2-a, probleem bordjes, die gaan uit zichzelf stuk:

Het is waarschijnlijk een te warme chip, zet je PC eens aan, en voel dan aan de chips die naast de connector van het power-cord zit, daar zit een spoel met koperdraad, en daarnaast zit een langwerpige chip met "SC1155CSW"erop, of zoiets, ik heb verhalen van mensen gehoord dat het daar aan ligt, die word binnen 10 sec. na opstarten zo heet dat je hem niet met je vinger kunt aanraken.
probeer je PC eens te draaien met een grote ventilator er op gericht. je weet wel, van die dingen die je normaal voor jezelf gebruikt in de zomer.

The motherboards using the power controller chip SC1155 (located between RAM and CPU) seem to fail. I took a so called defect mobo and did some research. With Windows 3D text screensaver i got the mobo to hang (and sometimes die if it hung too long) each time.
THE SC1155 CHIP GETS TOO HOT!
So I added a small heatsink and a little fan blowing air to it. Everything was suddenly solid as a rock. Took away the heatsink and fan and it hangs again after 2-3 minutes of the screensaver that i tested with. Now read this old review of the mobo:

I guess those people at Lostcircuits did right with that critisism of the use of SC1155 power controller chip. So i guess all mobo's using this chip will sooner or later end up having this problem.
It's obvious a problem with this chip if u ask me. Try it for yourself. Add a little fan blowing air to the chip and the computer have no more problems. Heatsink is not needed, it will do with a little fan. I've run this "defect" mobo with this added fan for four months now. No problems. And i've got messages that this "fan-fix" actually work confirmed from several of my customers.
I think the chip gets just over an edge in temperature and starts to fail thus delivering wrong current or voltage to the CPU. This again makes the chip even hotter and failing even more giving the CPU even worse conditions. And after two seconds the chip reaches 100 degrees celcius and the computer hangs. Add a fan (or perhaps a big heatsink) and the chip never gets over that edge and does not fail.
I would like MSI (if u read this) to comment this!
