I'm pretty sure this question has already been asked in this forum, but I've searched for a week and I can't find the answers I need.
I want to digitize my home-video's. For this I got myself a JVC DV cam, a P4 1,7, 60Mb 7200rpm, 256Mb, firewire, geforce4 mx440 with video out, directly linked to my TV.
Also I bought scenalyzer live for importing my files into the computer.
I've installed nearly all the codec-packs I could find and thought with all this I would be able to get some decent video in my computer.

I get video allright, but compared to linking my cam directly to my TV it looks like shit. Mainly the scenes in which the cam moves things get all blurry (the raw avi as well as the with tmpgenc encoded dvd-quality mpg-2's.
I also tried to convert to divx with virtual-dub, but I get the message that it needs a vfw-codec to work (I've installed the vfapi-codec a couple of times).
I'm pretty sure it has something to do with my MS DV codec which scenalyzer uses to import the stuff, but I give up after nearly half a jear searching for answers.
Can someone give me a hint of a phrase to search for?
