Niet normaal... Het is dus gebleken dat er code van het Xvid project gebruikt wordt door Realmagic in hun codec, zonder te vermelden dat zij gebruik maken daarvan.

Internally we already knew what was going on but since the XviD authors first wanted to try and resolve this internally we respected their wishes and kept quiet about the matter at hand.
Op Xvid.org staat ook een statement over waarom ze stoppen met verdere ontwikkeling. En ik moet zeggen dat ik het super smerig
vindt van Realmagic om niet te erkennen dat hun code gestolen is. Zelfs Microsoft geeft toe dat ze delen van tcp/ip stack van BSD hebben.
