Vroeger, toen alles nog beter was, heette New York, Nieuw Amsterdam en was het een Nederlandse kolonie. Het vrijheidsbeeld staat op de lokatie van een oud Nederlands fort als ik me niet vergis. Helaas hebben wij Nieuw Amsterdam aan de Engelse verpatst in ruil voor Suriname. Good bye Nederlandssprekend Noord Amerika!:(
