Euroteken TYPEN in X 4.1

Ik krijg het niet voor elkaar om het euroteken te kunnen typen in Debian 3.0 met XFree86 4.1.

Lees goed, het gaat om het typen! Het laten zien van het euroteken gaat goed!

In de console werkt het wel, daar kan ik met alt-gr+e het euroteken laten zien.

Met de euro-manual van Debian kom ik er niet uit.

In mijn XF86Config staat hetvolgende:

Staat je locale goed? (LC_CTYPE moet zo vroeg mogelijk op nl_NL@euro gezet worden, in je .xsession ofzo)

Ik kan nl. met Multi_key e = een euroteken maken in Debian sinds ik dat gedaan heb. Multi_key is standaard een van de windowstoetsen ahgi.

Vergeet niet je locale ook aan te maken (dpkg-reconfigure locales)

Maar het helpt niets. Ook de windows toets en de e doen niets.

Treenaks zou jij je keyboard sectie uit je XF86Config kunnen posten?

Ik ben er eindelijk uit. de environment variabele LANG stond op C.
Nu dat veranderd is naar nl_NL@euro is alles in orde.

Nu kan ik dus leuke accenten zoals éèö etc maken en natuurlijk het felbegeerde ¤uro teken.

en geen problemen... je moet die variabele echt zo vroeg mogelijk zetten en exporteren (zodat als je je xterm start eea al goed staat, en je niet alles moet intikken of via rcfiles moet doen).

En LANG maakt ook sommige programma's nederlans - ik weet niet of je dát wilt

Ik had de hoop opgegeven maar nu ik dit weer lees, begint dat euro teken weer te jeuken ik rede me nu met copy en paste nog een heel eind.

Net zoals euro teken wat nog steeds weg is

Het is opgelost in de us_intl keymap zat een error er waren om een vage reden wat komma's vergeten, kwam er achter door "setxkbmap us_intl" uit te voeren.

alt+5? = ¤ (werkt niet op alle lettertypen - helvetica bijvoorbeeld) Konqueror heeft enige moeite met het ¤. Ik krijg een blokje, maar zover ik weet Mozilla, Netscape, Opera etc. niet.

Ik kan de ¤ wel intypen in deze textbox, maar ik vrees dat ik ook zo'n spinnetje zal krijgen. (ik krijg deze gewoon met AltGr+E, standaard Slackware install met Belgisch Azertybordinstellingen)

Got vervangt mn ¤ door een spinnetje, ook als ik bekijk bericht doe, komt ie als een spin in de editbox te staan

Het blijkt dat het erg moeilijk is om het Euro teken te typen en te laten verschijnen in vele distro's. Is het misschien een idee om een goede HOWTO te maken die betrekking heeft op de configuratie van het Euro teken. Zoals het typen van het euro teken en het laten verschijnen van het euro teken met verschillende keymaps en locales.

En die euro-howto ben ik dus nu aan het doorwerken vandaar.

De rechter alt normaalgesproken. Dat kun je controleren met het programmaatje "xev". AltGr heet "Mode_switch".
