Ik ben al een hele namiddag bezig om XF86 aan de praat te krijgen op mijn laptop. Ik heb een speciale patched XF86 gecompiled maar als ik nu startx typ krijg ik:

Je serverlayout wil een "screen0".
In je config zie ik alleen een "screen1".
Dat kan niet kloppen.

glx EN dri in je modules. Vesa driver in gebruik?
# eens een helehoop modules, en probeer ze later 1 voor 1 toe te voegen.

5 minuutjes, zal even mijn XF86Config posten, ik heb bij de weg geen gepatchte xfree, gewoon 4.1 of 4.2 uit Debian (Woody of Sid) doen het allebei op mijn laptop. En die heeft ook een Sis630...

Je gebruikt zo te zien XFree86 4.x, dus dan zoekt ie meestal de file op de volgende plaatsen, in deze volgorde:

<home directory>/XF86Config-4
<home directory>/XF86Config
/etc/X11/XF86Config-4
/etc/X11/XF86Config
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86Config-4
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86Config

Het makkelijkst is om gewoon een "globale" X config file in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 te pleuren, en vergeet niet uit je home directory die file(s) weg te halen!

Bij jouw log bovenaan zie ik bijvoorbeeld:

Je kan beter die file dus naar /etc/X11 verplaatsen, en renamen naar XF86Config-4.
