abit kg7 raid problems

ok so its a rather complicating story, so let me explain ...

i just got a new abit kg7 raid ... amd athlon 1400 + 512 (2x256) ddr.

connected everything, including a hard drive with win2k already installed from another box. i expected it to boot normally and then just install all the different hardware, i could swear i did it before.. anyway upon booting win2k it gives me this ... the file ntoskrnl.exe is missing or corrupt pls install a new copy of this file .. after running into this error i decided to reinstall win2k or xp (tried both) over the existing OS. when i try to boot from a bootdisk it tells me command.com is missing.. if i put the harddrive with same diskdrive and same bootdisk in an other puter it works fine ... so tried to boot from cd rom, got a bootable win2k and bootable winxp cd ... with the win2k cdrom i can get into the blue installation screen, after a few seconds my pc just reboots ... same with the xp cd only the pc reboots right after "pls press any key to boot from cdrom" it reboots when i press any key ...


since i cant boot from cd or diskette i cant update the bios either, dunno if it would help, very strange problems, tried everything i could think of ...

any suggestions ?

I do have a few suggestions for you.

1- Why don't you just reinstall your OS?
2- Why did you registered yourself on a dutch forum.

When you insert a pre-installed HD ino your pc you can expect some driver-related errors.
You have an entirely diffrend motherboard then the one you installed your OS with.

I know for sure that when you reinstall the OS that everything will work correct.

Imagin the same situation on an english forum, i think that says it all.

Het lukt dus niet (goed) om te booten vanaf CD, want Win2K en WinXP willen allebei niet goed installeren. Verstandigst lijkt mij een complete format van de HD, maar waarom kun je niet booten vanaf diskette (www.bootdisk.com of GoT Bootfloppies)?
