Hopelijk krijg ik hier geen problemen mee.
Ook windows 2000 gebruikers die problemen hebben, moeten een patch halen bij M$.
We may need to prevent any background programs from interfering with our program. To do this, we just need to make a couple of modifications to the system.
Go to the Start menu, and choose Run. Delete anything on the Open line that you'll find there, and type in the work MSCONFIG. Click on OK, and that will bring up a program called the System Configuration Utility.
Look down the list of startup items (not the tab labeled Startup), and choose Selective Startup. If you don't see this, make sure you've clicked on General, near the top of the window. Once you've chosen Selective Startup, uncheck every item beneath it, except for 'Process System.INI file' and 'Process Win.INI file'. Once you're done here, click OK, and let it reboot your computer.
This procedure prevents any programs from starting up when you boot your computer, stopping them from running in the background. They will stay disabled until you actively turn them back on, which you can do by repeating this procedure, but choosing 'Normal Startup' when you'd normally choose 'Selective Startup'.
First, go to the Start Menu, and choose Settings, then Control Panels. That will activate your Control Panels. Once that's up, double-click on Multimedia, which will bring up a window displaying some information about your sound card.
Check your Preferred Device, listed under the Playback section. Make sure it is set to your sound card, and not something like Game Compatible Device or Wave for Voice Modem. That done, check 'Use Only Preferred Devices' at the bottom of the window.
In order to change the Sound Hardware Acceleration, you'll need to click on Advanced Properties, under the Playback box. If you find one under the Recording box, ignore it. Then, once the Advanced Properties are open, click on Performance, and you'll see the Sound Hardware Acceleration.
Turn that setting down to the second notch, called Basic Acceleration. That should disable the Sound Hardware Acceleration enough for your game to operate properly. Once you've done that, click Ok, and close down all of those windows.
