Cisco 761M Retry Interval + auto-dial problemen

Ik heb hier nu zo'n leuke Cisco 761M ISDN router staan die het bijna prima doet.
Als ik World Online instel en in mijn browser een IP adres intype krijg ik het mooi op mijn scherm. Bij een domein weigert hij automatisch in te bellen.

Nu heb ik ook een account bij QuickOnline en daarbij is het inbellen wat lastiger, daarom heb ik een retry interval van 200ms ingesteld. Maar hij vertikt het. Ik heb ook al 3000ms en 2000ms en wat nog meer geprobeerd maar hij blijft om de 40 sec ofzo inbellen, wat niet prettig is.

Uhm... heb je bij je OS een DNS server ingesteld?? Als je deze dus op die van je provider zet, zal na het invoeren van een domein extern gezocht moeten worden en zal de router aan moeten gaan.

Bij het tweede probleem hegb je daar NAT aanstaan??

Ik heb de DNS van Quick Online ingesteld (op 2 verschillende comps geprobeerd), maar hij vertikt het om in te bellen. 'k Zal eens proberen om als 1e DNS de router in te stellen, gaat ie misschien bellen.

NAT in de zin van Network Address Translation? Ja, PAT (Private Address Translation), maar ik zie niet hoe dit te maken kan hebben met de inbeltijd. Het probleem volgens mij is dat de lijn te lang openblijft en na 40 sec. deactivade. Ik weet niet hoe ik dit kan veranderen.

Phew, ik ben dus niet de enige met hezelfde probleem. Ik heb Verkoop Cisco van Datelcom gebeld en die raadde me allereerst aan om de fast step cd-rom niet te gebruiken..

Verder wisten ze zelf ook geen oplossing... Dus ik hou me aanbevolen voor meer tips

Die Fast Step is zowieso brak.
Op http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/779/smbiz/service/configs/700/700_isp_pat.htm staat een goede config voor je ISP, maar id het probleem met die lijn deactivation

I've got a Cisco 761M over here. It works, but I've got 2 problems;

- The simplest one is that auto-dial doesn't work when I type in a domain name. IP's work, but domains don't. I've configured my ISP's
DNS in my TCP/IP configuration though.

- The second is that, since I've got a bussy ISP, I use redial a lot. I've set it to various timeouts, but it doesn't work correctly. This is
because the line deactivades after about 40 seconds, and then it starts redialing. How can I cut this time short?

Answer:
Another approach would be to use the simpler "set timeout" command on links 1 & 2. You can use "set timeout off" so that the ISDN line does not automatically disconnect.

For the auto-dial problem with domain names, if the ISP has multiple DNS servers, try entering some other DNS in your TCP/IP configuration OR you can specify the primary and secondary DNS in the configuration for multiple DNS servers.

The problem is NOT that my line gets deactivated, but as shown in the output, it's the problem that my redial takes 1 min. per dial. This is because my line takes 40 seconds to deactivade. I want to speed this up.

I tried all the DNS servers, but it didn't dial. I don't understand this part: '...OR you can specify the primary and secondary DNS in the configuration for multiple DNS servers.'

Answer:
The line deactivation procedure is concerned with the NT device and you cannot do much to speed it up at your end. You should contact your ISDN service provider regarding this matter of delay in line deactivation.

With the primary and secondary DNS, we were referring to options in the TCP/IP configuration of a workstation. You can also try using DHCP on your router so that all connected nodes dynamically get their IPs as well as DNS address and then see whether auto-dial for domain names is working or not.

Ik heb zojuist 1 of ander bin filetjes gekregen waarmee ik de router downgrade.. Van Versie 4.4(2) naar versie 3.4(3) Als dat werkt geef ik wel een brul dan zet ik op 1 of andere manier wel op mijn site waarie dan te downen is

Vergeet niet dat je de c760-in.b-NET3.*.bin moet nemen (in.bxd als je IPX ook route).

Dan zou ik maar gelijk gaan downen als je problemen hebt want c760-in.b-NET3.43.1.bin werkt perfect.. Typ voor de zekerheid nog ff de config opnieuw in en klaar ben je.. Hier draait het nu perfect!!
