zwart scherm na veranderingen

IK heb SuSE 8.0 geinstalleerd. Draaide erg goed (met KDE3). Maar ik had toen de NVidia Drivers geinstalleerd en de NVidia kernel. Daarna zette ik de instellingen wat hoger en er kwam een zwart scherm. Ik herstarten, Linux probeerde grafisch in te loggen, Ik hoorde dat de monitor de resolutie ofzo aan het veranderen was. Toen hoorde ik een lage piep uit de pcspeaker. Wat moet ik doen. Ik zit nu overigens in het textloginscherm.

je renamed XF86Config-4 naar een andere naam, maakt niet uit
dan rename je XF86Config-4~ naar XF86Config, je typt startx en het zou moeten werken

Je hebt je kaart op 16 bits kleuren ingesteld, maar die kaart ondersteund dat niet.

Zoek in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 de regel 'Depth 16' en verander dat in 'Depth 24'

in windows enzo werkt die resolutie wel. Alleen hier niet. En voordat ik die nieuwe drivers het geinstalleerd werkte het ook

ff proberen drivers te uninstallen

je kunt je oude config terugzetten mocht dat nodig zijn. als het goed is staat er in /etc/X11/ een file genaamd XF86Config.2 of XF86Config.YaST2save of iets dergelijks... verwijder XF86Config en rename de XF86Config backup file naar XF86Config... daarna even opnieuw proberen....

...ondersteunt dat niet *met de huidige driver*... En die huidige driver is als ik mij niet vergis de 'svga' driver. Niet de driver die je wilt volgensmij.
