You can solder a resistor between 50 and 100 Ohms on pin 36 on the IDE1 port. The other end of the resistor connects to ground. (All the pins: 2, 19, 22, 24 & 40 on all IDE ports are ground).
The method is rather safe because you solder away from all of the heat sensitive chips.
