[RH 7.3] Iptables masquerading log on screen

Ik heb op http://www.linuxguruz.org echt hele mooie scripts gevonden voor een iptables firewall met masquerading. Het staan er trouwens nog veel meer.

Het probleem is alleen dat elke of iig veel messages op het screen worden gedisplayed. Dit is nou niet echt wat ik verwacht van een logging. Ik kan niet normaal werken want er komen telkens logging messages doorheen. Kan iemand mij vertellen wat er varnderd moet worden????

Dit is trouwens ook een heel geschikte voor een dynamisch IP-adress.

Hier onder staat het betreffende script.
Het is verder wel een aanrader. Zeker als mijn probleem is opgelost.

Leuk script hoor (moest veel scrollen!), maar het zou misschien handig zijn als we ook weten wat de meldingen op het scherm zijn :p

Als je je syslog aanpast zodat er geen kernel messages meer naar het scherm gestuurd worden. Dan ben je er vanaf.

en er zijn meer van dat soort loggings op het scherm. Maar om er nou meer over te typen heb ik niet echt zin.

Ik neem trouwns aan dat die logging van deze regel komt maar wat moet ik er aan wijzigen.

Maar hoe moet ik mijn syslogs wijzigen en waar.
Ik ben ook og maar een newbie.

Je configuratie voor je syslog vind je in /etc/syslog.conf. man syslog.conf geeft je een uitleg over deze file. Beetje zelf zoeken en proberen kan geen kwaad hoor, ook al ben je newbie.

Die meldingen op je console komen niet van de syslog daemon, maar van klogd. Met de -c optie kun je aangeven vanaf welk loglevel 'ie messages naar je console stuurt.

Als ik 't goed heb, gebruikt iptables standaard level 4 (warning). Dus als je klogd opstart met "-c 3" zou je die messages op je console kwijt moeten raken. Klogd geeft ze dan nog steeds door aan syslog, zodat ze wel in je logfiles terecht komen.

In RedHat wordt klogd opgestart vanuit /etc/init.d/syslog, dus dat is de aangewezen plaats op die optie toe te voegen.

Zoals je lees staat er firewall shutting down. Dat ACCEPT is dus alleen om hem weer in de "nul"-stand terug te zetten. Daarna gaat ie pas de firewall instellen, en je leest ook verderop nog eens die zelfde regels maar dan met DROP.
