Step 3 - Encode To Final VCD or S-VCD

1- Click on the '3 - Encode To Final VCD or SVCD' button.

2- Now TMPGEnc is loaded up go and click on the 'Load' button in the bottom right corner.
It's right in between the 'Settings' and 'Save' buttons (see below).

3- (S-VCD) Okay you will now see a list of .mcf files. Double click on the one named
' VcdGalaxy-PAL-SVCD-CQ-2000-Q85.mcf '

3- (VCD) Okay you will now see a list of .mcf files. Double click on the one named
' VideoCD (PAL).mcf '

4- Now remember the WAV file we ended up with from step 2 ? well now we need to load it in as
the audio source. For video source we load in the .d2v project file that we saved from step 2.
See below. Note: we are going to encode the movie into 2 parts that can each be burned
as an SVCD or VCD straight away and we don't need to do any file chopping at the end.

5- Now you have the files loaded and have specified an output mpeg file for part 1 then
click on the 'Settings' button and you get a TAB dialogue on the screen, go through each
screen and set the following options :-

Video
Motion Search Accuracy = Highest Quality (very slow)

Advanced
Frame Type = Progressive
Field Order = Odd Field
Aspect Ratio = 16:9 625 Line (PAL) (if converting from a widescreen movie)
Aspect Ratio = 4:3 625 Line (PAL) (if converting from a fullscreen movie)
Image Position = Full Screen (with aspect ratio)

6- Now we are still in the 'Advanced' tab. Double click on 'Source Frame Range'. This
will pop up another screen. Remember we are going to encode part 1 of the movie first.
Use the slider just below the preview window to get exactly half way through the movie,
when I say exactly I mean slide it right to the end first and look at what the elapsed time
is and then half it exactly and then slide it back to the what ever half was. Now you need
to click on 'Set End Frame'. Now write down the number which appears in the
'End Frame' box.

7- Now click 'OK' and you will be back at the 'Advanced' tab. Now make sure there is a tick
in the little box to the left of where it says 'Source Frame Range' (see below). Then click
'OK' again and you will be back at the main TMPGEnc screen.

8- (S-VCD) Now just hit Encode and wait for about 15hrs until part 1 is finished. When its
finished go and check the file size. If it's less than 750 Meg (when using 74 min CDR's)
and 800 Meg (when using 80 min CDR's) then everything is OK and you can go and do
part 2. To do part 2 just start from the top again but when you get to point 6 just make it
do the second half of the movie instead by altering the Start Frame values instead of the
End Frame ones. If the MPEG was to big then jump back to point 3 and instead of loading
the ' VcdGalaxy-PAL-SVCD-CQ-2000-Q85.mcf ' template file you must now load
' VcdGalaxy-PAL-SVCD-CQ-1850-Q75.mcf ' and I know it's a ball ache but you have to
encode it again with the CQ-Q75 template. If it still wont fit then you must use the
' VcdGalaxy-PAL-SVCD-CQ-1850-Q65.mcf ' template as a last resort.

8- (VCD) Now just hit Encode and wait for about 15hrs until part 1 is finished. When its
finished you can go and do part 2. To do part 2 just start from the top again but when you
get to point 6 just make it do the second half of the movie instead by altering the Start
Frame values instead of the End Frame ones.

Ik heb codecs opnieuw geinstleerd, beeld doet het nu wel, geluid niet..

werken divx 5 en tmp niet zo goed samen?
