BassieP vraagt op zijn site [http://www.rendo.dekooi.nl/~fjbgp/smartie] om verbeteringen te geven, die hij in de volgende versie misschien kan gebruiken.
Sorry voor de mensen hier op tweakers die geen engels spreken (dat zullen er niet al te veel zijn), maar op de smartie site is alles in het engels, en ik had geen zin om alles te vertalen...
Mijn vraag is nu aan de mensen die hier iets van programmeren afweten, welke functies zijn wel en welke niet uitvoerbaar? En als iemand dan weet hoe je die functies moet programmeren, kan diegene hier dan een link of uitleg posten? dus: welke variablelen zijn er wel en welke niet uit te trekken?

Here are some nice, mostly simple features to make your excellent piece of software even better
Im not really good at programming, so I dont know what is possible with getting variables from another application these are just ideas, I can imagine a lot of them cannot be done.
-skip screen if no internet connection available
-add % to disk space items
-adjust backlight to daylight / night
-bargraphs for system info
-current IP (if not yet already implemented)
-flashing backlight and alarms (at a certain time, only show a certain screen): WAKE UP!, TIME TO EAT etc
-flashing text
-scroll speed / direction per screen adjustable
-Quake Framerate FPS
-Random screen show
-Set of screens: show only winamp/ sysinfo etc chooseable from taskbar
-When shutting down / starting up: show message: hello or goodbye
-HD diskspace grand total. Freespace of all drives added up
-Show numlock etc status
-Pinging info: see if a site is online, or coorparate with programs which already do such stuff (nice for webmasters and sysops)
-Cooperation with MSN Messenger: show people online / new messages / the messages you always get in the bottom right corner of your screen.
-Splitscreen: Divide your screen into multiple screens: in the upper right corner a scrolling text, left the time etc.
-For the laptop or UPS users: the battery level of your battery / UPS and uptime.
-Skip screen if time is lower / higher then. / MBM temp is higher / lower as *C
-If you desire I can design a better taskbar icon, current one looks a bit messed up
-Volumes: winamp / line in / windows main.
-Dont know if you are familiar with the Radiator program? It is used to control radioTV cards. Can you pull out some varialbles of it, so I can display which radiostation I am currently listening to?
-GPU (videocard) temperatures? Or should I ask this one to the makers of MBM? (already did)
-Ive got an Logitech Cordless MouseMan Optical, and it displays in the taskbar if my battery level is ok or low. Can you somehow get those variables? (I dont know how much is possible with programming)
-If you cant get the graphical equalizer from winamp, maybe you can get the windows main output (2 bars which only display volume). A lot of programs already have it, so it must be possible. Then you can show these as 2 horizontal fullscreen bars in a new screen, or show them vertically besides the winamp info (see also splitscreen function which I described earlier.). vertical would only be possible for owners of a xxX4 screen, otherwise you only have 2 pixels (shit! Ive got a 20X2)
-Bar images definable, at least, get rid of the _underscore when displaying bars. Maybe a good idea to put %percentages in the middle of a bar, just like windows does it.
-I am running windows 2000, build 2195, and when smartie is running, I cant shut down, I have to close smartie first. Is this normal, or is it a bug?
-Show if there is an activesync connection (for handhelds)
