The Award
Barely no other software has evolved so quickly in recent years than the Open Source scripting language PHP. During the last 14 months the number of domains that have PHP installed doubled to 8 million, according to studies condcuted by both Netcraft and E-Soft.
At the same time both the quality and quantity of applications written in PHP grew. Today the spectrum of PHP driven applications includes full-featured IDEs and high-end, mission-critical solutions.
By awarding a price for quality, usability, functionality and originality to outstanding software projects and products the PHP Award 2002 wants to support the development of both Open Source and commercial PHP applications.
The PHP Award 2002 is organized by the Association Française des Utilisateurs de PHP (AFUP) and the German PHP Association (PHP Verein).
Categories
The PHP Award will be given in three categories:
Open Source
Freeware
Commercial Software
Further sub-categories, that give credit to the wide variety of application areas in which PHP is used, will be announced after the submission deadline.
Jury
The submissions will be judged by jury of international experts.
Submission
Regardless of the fact whether you like a software you use and want to propose it for the PHP Award 2002 or you're the author of a software written in PHP: everyone can submit a project.
