Nintendo lowers European price point for GameCube

In a clear response to Microsoft's agressive pricing change for Xbox in Europe, Nintendo has just sent out a press release stating that GameCube will now retail in Europe for €199 as opposed to its previous price of €249.

"Europe is an important market for Nintendo and we are doing everything to make NINTENDO GAMECUBE a success," said David Gosen, Managing Director at Nintendo of Europe. "This is a very good offer to consumers. One we believe that will guarantee the success of Nintendo in Europe."

Surely, this will come as a disappointment to Microsoft, as Nintendo's console distances itself from the competition once again.
