nee klopt, maar als het echt om een Site gaat van de NEO groep, zou het toch wel eens echt kunnen zijn NEO maakt voor PS2 ook (eigenlijk) alle mod "Lays"..

Je kan er 100% op vertrouwen dat dit echt is maar,

1) Het is momenteel nog geen chip. Ze hebben alleen wat code opgestuurd naar een dev'er en die heeft het getest.

2) Ze weten niet of ze de chip echt gaan maken, want ze willen geen moeilijkheden met M$ _{Lees: Ze verkopen de code en laten een of ander bedrijf uit azië ze verkopen}

3) Waarschijnlijk hebben ze hem ook al gekraakt om back-ups op te spelen alleen mag Rapt0r (chief neo-technologies) hier nog niks over zeggen.

OK let's clear up a few things

We want to make it very clear that this development enables the playback of IMPORT ORIGINALS ONLY. It in no way enables to play any kind of illegal copies. We have no wish to venture into this area so please do not ask.

There is no modchip at present. The instructions on which area of the flash rom to patch were given to us by an overseas enthusiast who simply wanted to see if his ideas were correct. We implemented his ideas and they worked. Test machine was a USA console playing Max Payne PAL, and a PAL console playing HALO NTSC.

We will investigate the legality of this modification. If there is a legitimate purpose then we will of course proceed with designing a "DIY" mod where you can install for yourselves with just a few wires. If our lawyer advises that it is indeed illegal then we will not proceed any further.

Our view is that there are thousands of Europeans who invested a lot of their hard earned money to purchase an XBOX from the USA when it was first released. Members of our staff were among these excited gamers who wanted to get their hands on the machine. Now the XBOX is available in Europe is it fair to say that they would have the right to buy games from their local store as opposed to paying expensive import prices or having to sell their console at a loss and buy a new one ?

Either way we see this as an exciting development for both Gamers and Microsoft alike. I'm sure it would increase their sales for both games and consoles, and along the way making the lives of their customers that much easier.

So for now there is nothing for sale, no news on a DIY mod and certainley no information on any kind of pirate chip that people have been discussing.

We have received fresh PAL, USA & JAP XBOX consoles today (Why is the JAP case a nice transparent green color as opposed to a solid black mat?). I can confirm that our flash mod works perfect on all 3 models. We are currently looking at DVD multiregion and Macrovision. What we did find interesting was that a USA flash rom works just fine in a PAL console, and the same with the JAP models (both original and patched) although the ROMS are noticeably different they seem to control the console just the same. (The main differences seem to be the Kernal and the HDD check)

Dit mogen ze lang zoeken want op www.gamefreax.de stond dat de dvd regio op de afstandbediening opgeslagen was. Dus als je regio 1 dvds wilt bekijken moet je een amerikaanse afstandbediening halen..


Ze mogen van mij een code schrijven waardoor je die afstandbediening niet nodig hebt scheelt weer 50 euro

BTW ik heb wat inside nieuws gehoord:

The Import chip for X-Box does not allow you to play backups. This has been confirmed to me by the guys who made it.

Basically, they don't want to get sued by M$ etc. and are seeking advice on where they stand with breaking the country Region protection, as the $ony case in UK made unlocking regions to play imports illegal.

That's not to say that the chip won't appear in some form somewhere.

As for backups, it is confirmed that their is a method of booting backups, not using the Import chip on its own mind, no details given to me.

However, as discussed earlier on this thread. The DVDs on X-Box are 9 gig, but the first layer (single) is used as a movie like a dummy track and the second layer (dual) actually contains the game data and not all of it is used.

Scene do already have titles ripped and ready to launch on CDRW and DVDRW but I guess they won't appear until there is a product out there to help you boot them, whatever form it may take.

geloof mij maar dat als jou DVD beschadigt is door een slecht X-Box dat je echt wel een vervanging krijgt, en geloof mij maar dat de X-Box NOOIT gemod/hackt of weet ik wat wordt.

Hier staat ook een chip, zou wel vet zijn om een chip in me xbox te hebben waarmee ik Divx mee kan afspelen...

maar ik vind het ook allemaal nog een beetje scary, straks bouw ik een chip in die binnen een maand oud nieuws is.. of dat er blijkt iets mis te zijn met dat type chips ofzo..
