Volgens google
It is simply a VCD with double the
capacity of a normal one. ie. about 90-120 mins instead of 45-60
mins. I don't know how you can make one yourself, but you can
certainly buy them in Asian countries.

Zeker zo'n import 'DVD' in een witte hoes
Bij gebrek aan uw reclame staat hier mijn handtekening.

Zeker zo'n import 'DVD' in een witte hoes
1. VCD aka Video CD (there are versions 1.0, 1.1, 2.0). The most
common is VCD 2.0 which adds such features as multi level menus, slide
shows, still shots, combo video/cd audio tracks, indexes within tracks
(also known as scenes). Up to 74min of audio/video. Uses MPEG-1
compression and resolution is 352X240
2. CVD (china video disc)----Was also first called HQVCD. Came before
SVCD but seems to have the same properties as SVCD. SVCD more or less
took over this format
3. SVCD aka Super Video CD---- 480X480 resolution (standard hasn't
been fully finalized to my knowledge. This is as of now a "china only
format". It is what is known as 2/3 D-1 resolution. Supposed to be an
answer to DVD and a supplement to VCD. It uses MPEG-2 compression and
provides at most (dont quote me on this) 45min. Has such features as
menus, digital sound, multi audio tracks, etc.
4. VCD 2X---same bitrate as VCD but resolution is twice that
(702X480). Pretty unknown format as of now. Players are made in china
however but I dont know about any movie titles.
5. VCD 3.0---same bitrate/resoution and features as VCD 2.0, but adds
internet Hyperlinks.....I dont know much else with this format...
6. DVCD aka Double VCD----same bitrate/resolution and features as VCD
but the length is anywhere from 90-100 min. I was informed from a
professional that 130min was possible but compatibility problems are
apparent. There are some movies in china in this format. A friend of
mine has Bug's life (nearly 90min) on a DVCD. I was told these discs
play on DVD players, VCD players, but may be incompatible with CD-ROM
players. It is not, to my knowlege proven how these are written (or
how to create these) but I was informed they are burned using Mode-3
(dont quote me on that) but use regular cd media.
7. DSVCD aka Double SVCD-----same bitrate/resolution and features as
SVCD but length is more. I dont know too much about this format at all
8. DCVD aka Double CVD- same bitrate/resoution and features as CVD
but length is more. I donl't know too much about this format at all.
9. NetView/Internet VCD---- find out more info at
http://www.videocd2.com/ but basically you can put SVHS quality
videos, whole internet pages, and audio on a VCD. I dont know if this
really counts as another form of VCD but I just thought I put it up
here.
