Gaaf, en nu ook een ISO direct bij Gentoo vandaan halen met i686 binaries!
* intoxicated gaat 'm direct installeren. En straks ook KDE3 Final. En 1 mei Gnome 2.0 Final. En dan ben ik weer helemaal blij

About these tarballs:
The "stage1" tarball is what we used to call a "build tarball". It is a chrootable image that you can use to build Gentoo Linux completely from scratch. It requires a bootstrap and an "emerge system" to convert it to a bootable Gentoo Linux system.
The "stage2" tarball is a build tarball that's been bootstraped for you. It only needs an "emerge system" to convert it to a bootable Gentoo Linux system. Handy if you want specific optimizations (such as i686) but want to change your USE variables significantly from the default.
The "stage3" tarball is a fully-built Gentoo Linux system. It has already been bootstrapped and emerge system has already been performed. You can simply extract this tarball to your root filesystems, configure and boot your new Gentoo Linux system. Very handy for when you want specific optimizations (i686)and the default USE settings are just fine (they usually are).
Note: The "i686" tarballs use "-O3 -march=i686" optimizations; they require a Pentium Pro or greater to use (K6 won't work). The "ix86" tarballs will work with anything, i486 or greateer.
You can find up-to-date install instructions at
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/build.html, or on the ISO image. To view the install docs on the ISO image, boot the CD and then type "less /install.txt".
