Mensen Ik draai nu al een hele tijd met tevreden heid debian maar ik kom er niet uit hoe ik MRTG moet instellen dat die mijn trafic van eth0 bij houd hij installeert goed maar daarna gaat het fout. Ik zal er voor de zeker heid een stukje kopieren uit mijn log files en mijn mrtg.conf er bij zetten.

Wat doet dat pakketje precies ?

Waarschijnlijk draait snmpd nog niet lang genoeg. (alhoewel... :? ) Je het snmpd wel gestart he ;) (moet bij elke boot trouwens weer - dus stel dat even in als dat nog niet zo is). Probeerde je het gelijk?

Je moet ook even goed kijken of de configuratie van smnpd wel overeenkomt met mrtg (vooral die dingen als 'public' enzo).

nu werkt je snmap wel maar geeft een error terug

hoe stel je je mrtg in? via ip 127.0.0.1? zoniet probeer dat eens

waarschijnlijk moet je snmpd eerst goed configgen

MRTG hoeft geen gebruik te maken van SNMP als alleen de gegevens van dezelfde machine wilt weergeven.
Het is ook mogelijk de resultaten van bijvoorbeeld perl-scripts weer te geven met MRTG.
Eens zoeken op de homepage van MRTG, daar staan wel links naar pagina's met voorbeeld configuraties en scripts !

Jopie hij draait goed maar nog 2 dingen die niet goed werken. Als het goed is maakt die statstieken van eth0 maar bij de uitlezing van de grafiek komt die niet oven de 3b uit hoe komt dit ? En heb ik mijn snmpd nu veilig ingesteld?
